Ukrainian company FLYTECH has unveiled its ARES reconnaissance drone, according to a report by Militarnyi. The drone, named after the Greek god of war, is already being used by the Ukrainian military on the front lines. ARES is an unmanned aerial vehicle designed for operational and tactical tasks. It has a flight time of up to 150 minutes and a communication range of 50 kilometers. The system can be deployed in just 15 minutes and can be hand-launched and landed using remote control.
FLYTECH has begun mass production of ARES drones after their successful deployment on the battlefield. The company claims that ARES is easy to repair and has a lower cost compared to similar UAVs. The exact costs, however, have not been disclosed. Charitable organizations and volunteer initiatives are purchasing ARES UAV systems for the Ukrainian military. FLYTECH plans to introduce an upgraded version, ARES 2, with a new communication system and an improved sensor. The company is also developing ARES 3, a kamikaze UAV with a combat range of 30-40 kilometers.
