Germany has delivered the third Patriot air defense system to Ukraine as part of military aid. The Ukrainian crew of the air defense system was trained in Germany, according to German Ambassador Martin Jaeger. The delivery is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s air defense against Russian air strikes. The German government made the decision to provide the Patriot system in response to the increasing attacks on Ukraine. In addition to Germany, the Netherlands and another country have also prepared to provide Ukraine with a Patriot air defense system. The United States has designated Ukraine as a priority recipient of anti-aircraft missiles for air defense systems. The Norwegian government has contributed a financial package to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and purchase 100 anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot systems.
