لاتفيا ستسلم أكثر من 2500 طائرة بدون طيار لقوات الدفاع الأوكرانية في يوليو

As part of the Drone Coalition, Latvia will hand over a significant number of attack drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces in July. The Ministry of Defense of Latvia announced that over 2,500 drones will be delivered for €4 million. The first batch of 300 drones will arrive in the coming days. The drones were produced by seven Latvian companies. “Together with the members of the international Drone Coalition, we are constantly working to supply Ukraine with drones,” said Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds. In 2024, €20 million were allocated by the Latvian Ministry of Defense for the needs of the coalition, with €10 million for the purchase of drones for the Latvian defense industry. Other countries that are part of the Drone Coalition include the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, and Estonia.
This initiative to create the Drone Coalition was announced in December 2023 during a meeting between the defense ministers of Latvia and Ukraine. The bidding for companies to supply FPV drones to Ukraine was opened by the UK and Latvia in early June on behalf of the Drone Capability Coalition.
