دول حلف شمال الأطلسي تطلب 940 صاروخ FIM-92 لنظام دفاع الجو المحمول يدويًا من Raytheon

NATO countries have placed an order for 940 FIM-92 missiles for the Stinger man-portable air defense systems. The contract was signed by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency at the NATO summit in Washington. The missiles have been ordered for Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands, which need to replace their own stockpile after transferring missiles of this type to Ukraine. The contract, worth over $700 million, will be implemented by the American company Raytheon.

The missiles will provide NATO countries with the capability to protect troops from Russian air assets, including attack and reconnaissance drones, at a range of up to 7 kilometers. Germany, as part of the contract, will receive 506 FIM-92K Stinger Block I missiles, to be delivered by 2028-2029. The US has also completed refurbishment efforts on nearly 1,900 unserviceable Stinger missiles, making them combat-ready if required.
