التشيك تبحث عن تمويل لشراء الذخيرة لصالح القوات الدفاعية الأوكرانية في عام 2025
The Czech Republic is seeking funds to purchase ammunition for the Ukrainian Defense Forces in 2025 as part of its initiative. According to Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, 18 countries have joined the initiative, with 15 having already fulfilled their obligations and made their contributions. Monetary contributions from these countries will allow Prague to hand over 500,000 rounds of ammunition to Kyiv by the end of this year. The Czech Republic is currently looking for funding to purchase new ammunition for the initiative to continue in 2025. If sufficient funds are available, up to 800,000 rounds of ammunition could be delivered to Ukraine in 2024. The Czech Republic maintains daily contact with its Ukrainian partners, who appreciate the assistance. To ensure the initiative’s success, the Czech Republic seeks suppliers from non-NATO and non-EU countries, as Russia is attempting to disrupt the effort.
“We are currently looking for money to purchase new ammunition so that the initiative can continue in 2025,” Lipavský said.
“The Czech Republic was in daily contact with its Ukrainian partners, who appreciated the assistance,” he added.
“Russia was trying to disrupt the initiative, and that was why the Czech Republic did not disclose where the ammunition came from,” Lipavský further emphasized.
In late June, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala mentioned that the first batch of artillery ammunition purchased under the Czech initiative had already arrived in Ukraine. Defense Minister Jana Černochová clarified that the initial delivery consisted of 50,000 rounds of ammunition. The Czech President previously stated that Ukraine should have received 50,000 rounds in July and August, and 80,000 to 100,000 rounds per month from September to the end of the year. The Czech Republic aims to continue supporting Ukraine by providing necessary ammunition.
“Russia was trying to disrupt the initiative, and that was why the Czech Republic did not disclose where the ammunition came from,” Lipavský noted.
