راينميتال الألمانية تحصل على عقد بقيمة 205 مليون يورو لإنتاج شحنات لوزارة الدفاع الإسبانية

Germany’s Rheinmetall has secured a contract to produce 500,000 propelling charges for the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The agreement, worth up to €205 million, was announced by Rheinmetall. Delivery of the charges is scheduled to take place from mid-2024 to the end of 2025. The order also includes an option to extend for a further two years, potentially increasing its value. The purchase is aimed at helping Spain replenish its depots and meet alliance requirements for artillery systems and shells. Rheinmetall was commissioned by the Spanish government in March 2024 to supply nearly 100,000 new 155-mm ER02A1 projectiles, to be delivered between the end of 2024 and 2025.
The Spanish Ministry of Defense has also placed an order with Rheinmetall for the production of over 100,000 mortar mines, with a total value of approximately €58 million. These mines, ranging from 60, 81, and 120 mm caliber, will be delivered to the Spanish Army. The decision to purchase these charges and mines comes after the Spanish army provided artillery shells and propelling charges to Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion. This procurement will help Spain enhance its military capabilities and meet the necessary requirements for artillery systems and shells.
