هجوم طائرات بدون طيار من مخابرات الدفاع في أوكرانيا على مستودع نفط في منطقة كورسك

Drones of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine attacked an oil depot in the Kursk region. The attack took place at around 1 am on July 28, 2024, in the village of Polievaya. The oil depot, owned by Polevaya LLC, has a total of 10 tanks for short-term oil storage. Local residents reported hearing strange sounds in the sky, followed by several powerful explosions. The explosions caused a massive fire that required the efforts of 82 rescuers and 32 pieces of special equipment to extinguish. The attack resulted in the destruction of three tanks, while four more were destroyed in a previous attack on February 15, 2024, which also caused a massive fire at the tank farm.
The initial information from Russian authorities stated that all drones over the Kursk region had been shot down. However, the governor of the region later confirmed that the oil depot had indeed been hit. The coordinates of the attacked oil depot are 51.61059313020496, 36.4922042867156. The depot is located 150 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border and has a railway line passing through the village, which can accommodate fuel tankers. Previous attacks by Ukrainian drones had targeted a Russian military airfield in Morozovsk, Rostov Region, and an oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai. The source reporting this incident is Astra.
