Ukrainian troops have successfully targeted and destroyed a Russian Giatsint-S self-propelled gun in the Kherson region. The gun was hit by a missile dropped by a drone operated by Grom Group operator Roman Kostenko, as reported by the Nikolaevsky Vanek Telegram channel. The drone had discovered a camouflaged position of Russian artillerymen with the Giatsint-S gun through aerial reconnaissance. At night, the Ukrainian Perun attack drone dropped multiple rounds of ammunition, which struck the Russian self-propelled gun. A video released by the drone operator showed the gun catching fire.
This is not the first time Ukrainian troops have destroyed Russian Giatsint-S self-propelled guns. The 44th Separate Artillery Brigade, named “Hetman Danylo Apostol,” had previously destroyed a similar gun in the Zaporizhzhia region.
