قوة أوكرانية تضرب ٧٠ هدف جوي بنجاح باستخدام نظام دفاع جوي بريطاني

The Ukrainian unit operating the British Stormer HVM anti-aircraft system has successfully hit 70 air targets in a span of two years. The soldiers of the 1129th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment claimed this achievement in the midst of a full-scale war. The success was attributed to the skill of the operators, as well as the use of laser-guided anti-aircraft missiles that do not require thermal signature to lock onto a target. The Stormer HVM air defense system is armed with Starstreak missiles and has a detection range of 18 kilometers with a kill range of 7 kilometers. The launchers can hold up to eight missiles. The UK government had announced the transfer of these systems to Ukraine in April 2022, along with the delivery of hundreds of Starstreak missiles.
“I’ve been serving since 2022, and since then the unit has destroyed 70 drones: Zala, Supercam, Orlan-10, Orlan-30, Merlin-VR,” said the Stormer HVM operator. The Ukrainian military stated that it takes about a month on average to master the British system. The military emphasized that the missiles are effective against aircraft and can be guided by a laser even if a helicopter employs flares as a countermeasure. In addition to the Starstreak missile, the system also has the capability to use Martlet missiles with a range of up to 9 kilometers. The Stormer HVM air defense system was recently seen shooting down a Russian drone, as captured in a video released by ArmyInform.
