الدفاع الأوكراني يستخدم نظام الصواريخ HIMARS لضرب رادار روسي P-18 في جنوب أوكرانيا

Ukrainian defenders used the HIMARS rocket system to strike a Russian P-18 radar in the south of Ukraine. The attack was carried out after the Ukrainian SSU’s 13th Main Directorate of the Military Counterintelligence Department used a Shark reconnaissance drone to detect the radar’s location. The information obtained was then passed on to the military command responsible for that sector, who determined the exact coordinates of the radar.
The HIMARS rocket system, as seen in a video shared by volunteer Pavlo Kashchuk, fired two GMLRS missiles at the radar, most likely M30A1 rockets with warheads containing thousands of tungsten balls. The resulting attack caused damage to the modernized P-18 radar and potentially disabled it. There were also casualties among the radar’s crew and nearby vehicles, with some soldiers killed or seriously injured. Throughout the operation, a Ukrainian drone monitored the damage and helped adjust the HIMARS strike.
It is worth noting that with the help of P-18 and other types of radar, Russians are trying to control the airspace over the temporarily occupied territory and adjacent areas of Ukraine. Previously, the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk region destroyed the latest Russian 1K148 Yastreb-AV counter-battery radar, which was delivered to the aggressor country’s military in small quantities.
