جمعية البلديات تتبرع بسيارتي إطفاء لخدمة الطوارئ الحكومية في أوكرانيا

The Association of Municipalities has donated two fire engines to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The donation was reported on the official website of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine. The fire engines were transferred by the mayor of the municipality of Luxembourg, David Berl, and the mayor of the community of St. Anton am Arlberg, Helmut Mall. The vehicles are already fully equipped with all the necessary means for extinguishing fires. The fire engines were handed over on July 12 and will be deployed in the Kharkiv region in the coming days.
Austria, while not providing military aid to Ukraine, has been contributing to humanitarian assistance. In May 2023, the Austrian government allocated a €2 billion financial package to purchase special equipment for demining Ukrainian territory. The donation of fire and ambulances, as well as funding for demining equipment, aims to support Ukraine, the most mined country in the world, with the estimated need for $40 billion to clear the affected lands.
Previously, at the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Austria provided Ukrainian rescuers and medics with special vehicles. Vienna’s emergency services transferred 11 units of fire rescue equipment and 5 ambulances to Ukrainian first responders. Other equipment and gear also arrived in Ukraine.
