The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has conducted tests of Lithuanian-made FPV drones in conditions simulating combat. The tests were organized to allow Ukraine to select drones that best meet the needs of its soldiers. Five Lithuanian manufacturing companies successfully improved their drones based on feedback from Ukrainian experts. The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reported on this development.

Lithuania aims to promote the production of drones and counter-drone systems, which is also important for Ukraine. The experience of operating drones on the battlefield and testing drones from Lithuanian manufacturers is being shared by Ukrainians. After selecting the most suitable drones, Ukraine will sign contracts with the manufacturing companies. The Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania sees this as a significant step for its drone manufacturers. The Ukrainian army evaluated the samples brought for testing and provided recommendations. Based on these assessments and proposals from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Lithuanian manufacturers will be asked to submit final proposals and sign contracts. An allocation of €5 million is planned to support Ukraine’s purchase of Lithuanian drones, in addition to €3 million worth of equipment already purchased for the Lithuanian army. The Lithuanian government will allocate an additional €20 million for the purchase of various types of combat and reconnaissance drones, as reported by Militarnyi on July 26.
