Ukroboronprom State Concern has completed tests of 155-mm ammunition and is preparing for serial production in the second half of 2024. This was reported by Ukroboronprom State Concern to journalists from Radio Svoboda. The Ukrainian defense industry has completed tests of its own 155-mm shells and plans to begin mass production in the second half of 2024. The 155-mm caliber shells made in Ukraine will be compatible with all artillery systems of the same caliber. Ukraine is also launching joint ventures with Western defense companies, including two unnamed American firms and one European firm, Rheinmetall, to produce 155-mm shells. The sale of shells from these joint ventures will be based on the market principle, but Ukraine will have the right of first refusal.
