Ukrainian defenders successfully destroyed a Russian 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled gun in the Donetsk region. Footage of the defeat was published by the military, showing the Russian vehicle being hit by an FPV drone while in motion. The soldiers of the 47th Mechanized Brigade detected the Russian self-propelled gun in the Stepove area, north of the temporarily occupied Avdiivka, and coordinated its destruction. The FPV drone, operated by the 109th Independent Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, targeted the moving Akatsiya gun, causing a fire onboard and resulting in the instant detonation of the ammunition inside. The explosion, captured on video, led to the total destruction of the self-propelled gun and its crew.

This incident is part of a series of successful operations by Ukrainian troops against the Russian invaders. Earlier, the operators of the FPV Drone Group “Muramasa” of the 109th Territorial Defense Brigade had destroyed a Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzer. The Ukrainian drone targeted the howitzer while it was driving on the highway at night, causing it to catch fire and ultimately leading to its complete destruction. The fate of the Russian crew remains unknown. These successful operations demonstrate the effective teamwork and capabilities of the Ukrainian defenders in countering Russian aggression.
