The Biden administration has announced additional security assistance for Ukraine, as stated in the official press release of the U.S. Department of Defense. The package includes a Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) valued at up to $150 million, providing Ukraine with critical capabilities such as air defense interceptors, artillery, anti-tank weapons, and other fires. In addition, approximately $2.2 billion from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds will be used to purchase air defense interceptors for the PATRIOT and NASAMS systems. This aid will help Ukraine protect its people and infrastructure against Russia’s aerial attacks. The United States, along with 50 Allies and partners, is committed to supporting Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression. This is the Biden administration’s sixtieth equipment tranche for Ukraine since August 2021.
