وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية تفرض عقوبات على كيانات صينية لتطوير طائرات مسيرة لروسيا

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on three entities and one individual in connection with the development of Russia’s Garpiya series long-range attack UAVs. These UAVs have been used in Russia’s military operations in Ukraine. The UAVs were developed by experts based in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and produced at PRC factories in collaboration with Russian defense firms before being transferred to Russia. This marks the first time the U.S. has sanctioned Chinese companies directly involved in the production of UAVs for Russia, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The sanctions target the Joint Stock Company Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol (AO IEMZ Kupol), Artem Mikhailovich Yamshchikov, Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine Co., Ltd., and Redlepus Vector Industry Shenzhen Co Ltd. The companies have been involved in the production and transportation of UAV components for the Garpiya series, including engines and electronic parts. The decision comes as part of a wider effort to disrupt networks that support Russia’s military capabilities, as noted by Bradley T. Smith, Acting Under Secretary of the Treasury
